Sumter County ARES will again participate in the National Night Out event on October 4th, 2024. Organized locally by the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office, National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live.

Sumter County ARES will use this opportunity to
promote the advancement of amateur radio, and to acquaint the public and local officials with the capabilities of amateur radio for emergency communications.

We encourage everyone to attend this important community event. For more information or to volunteer to assist at the booth, contact the SCARES Operations Section Chief, Jeff Taffuri, KO4NCC at jtaffuri@gmail.com, or by phone at (352) 444-2216 Ext.3 We hope to see you there!
